We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as this is not required for our processing activities under Article 37 GDPR.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies our website uses, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to recognize your device and, in some cases, remember information about your visit.
2. Cookies we use
We currently use the following two cookies. We do not use any analytics or advertising cookies.
payload-token
- Purpose: keeps you signed in to your Hotelink customer account.
- Type: strictly necessary — required for the authenticated account feature to work.
- Duration: expires with your login session.
- Third-party access: none — read only by our own server.
visitor_id
- Purpose: an anonymous identifier required to power core site features — remembering your recent searches, recently viewed hotels, and saved favorites between visits.
- Type: strictly necessary — required for these core site features to function.
- Duration: up to 1 year.
- Third-party access: none — read only by our own server.
Because this cookie is necessary for the site to provide these features, it does not require your consent. If we introduce additional, non-essential cookies in the future (for example, analytics or advertising cookies), we will request your consent beforehand through a cookie consent banner.
3. Cookies set by third parties
When you complete a booking, our payment processor Stripe may set its own cookies as part of the secure checkout process. Stripe's use of cookies is described in Stripe's own privacy and cookie documentation, which we do not control.
4. How to control cookies
Most web browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking the payload-token cookie will prevent you from staying signed in to a customer account; blocking the visitor_id cookie will prevent us from remembering your recent searches, viewed hotels, and favorites between visits. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from searching for or booking a hotel as a guest.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we introduce new cookies or a cookie-consent mechanism. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
